I have same and have added a bolt through the pallet, attached a plate and fixed the stand to it, can now turn east or west easily.
 
Final call. For good signal levels from Mars and beyond Tin Dish (almost) DX on X band


I couldn't, too many here already, but I would be interested in your Xband feed and LNBs (modification or bought/purloined as such), if you have time to write something.

If I had a concrete area I'd like to try that. On grass it's not so easy (and the wheels sink in winter).

Will do when I get a mo. It's a home made 1st stage LNA followed by Miteq 2nd (both at feed) and Ebay bits for filter & 3rd stage amp, junk box mixer/LPF/IF amp. Gilat Ka LNB LO (9GHz) with ext ref. Feed cobbled together from plumbing bits. I change filter and feed between 7.5GHz milsat and 8.4GHz DSN.

It's gone and already re-built by its new owner for use on X band.
