Just Sharing This A 10 way diseqc switch

..In actual fact I now have 18 inputs ...which can either be fixed or motorised ..
The lnbs can either be on Tom Dick or Harry ...or fixed as in the Sky Mini ...or mounted as offset lnbs on either Carl or Christina ...
..and just look how many vacant inputs I now have ...
What a breakthrough..

But i can confirm that at the moment my cat has gone sleep in the better halves jigsaw box, while she attempts to finish it,therefore i know where my moggy is...

...Had another flash of inspiration ..
Now that I have extra inputs ...I thought Id try this and it works ...thanks to those Yankee fellows..
The SL3 as you know has 4 outputs driven to 4 seperate f connector outputs ..but I only use one ..
So ..took down the SL3 opened her up and re-connected one of the redundant F's ..
Thus I can drive 2 outputs (isolated).
I then borrowed the Ku line and connected this to the reconnected F..
This means I have 2 identical signals arriving in the loft ..
I then connected the borrowed ku line to a second SUP-2400 ..
This one is NOT hard wired like the other ..

This one can be switched on and off using the Hex commands ...the other is hard wired to upconvert Ka band A making it accessible to the F15 or indeed any receiver ...
So by selecting Diseqc 1.0 (port 1) and Diseqc 1.1 (port 1) the F15 can receive Ka band A ...but if I select Diseqc 1.0 (port 1) and Diseqc 1.1 (port 2) I get the unconverted output from the SL3 ie Ka band B ...which I can scan with the F15.
This means I wont have to keep swapping the SUP-2400s to use switchable and non switchable ..(The TBS card like the switchable SUP) ..as it can control the switching ..whereas the F15 cannot..
Clear as mud eh ;)
The cost ...I will have to run yet another cable from the loft to Carl (SL3 line 2)
A job for another day ..the point is ..It's doable ..and I no longer need to persue construction of a diseqc generator..

Just as an addition ..and not really relevant to diseqc switching ...this is for Llew..
The SiS news feed you were persuing (Ka band A ) ..does switch from the office view to live feeds regularly ..
Tonight at around 10db ..I caught live links (Live Bongs ..lol) for the ITV news ..
See the attached 10 pics ..and there was even audio this time..

Help !! ..
my madness is still gaining traction ..
Another 100m reel of cable comes to an end ..
Inspired by the recent success with creating 18 inputs to my complex switch system ..and utilisation of a second output from the SL3 ..plus the addition of a C band LNB to Carl ..I needed more ports/cable connections ..
Granted I only needed 2 more ..but it's such a messy job ..
Why install 2 lines when there is enough cable for 3 ..so..
Another load of cutting of paving slabs ..
Another length of 36mm waste pipe going in and 3 more lengths of all copper cable ..
I might also run another length of 8 core control cable ..just in case I ever make Carl motorised declination capable ..

I ache sommink chronic now ...but feel both justified and satisfied I made the descision ...but I suspect I am a possibly a bit mad ..
