"AI" - the new "must have", or is it?

As "AI" is in all the news ATM, has anyone here used &/or experienced the results of an AI "service", and/or what do they think of the whole concept?
 
Could lead to whammy of AI using AI to create AI, is that a double or triple whammy?

Politicians running scared of AI, it shows the majority of 'em up for the brain dead and clueless spielers they are.

What will be next? The AI will also go on strike?

By the way "AI" was a block buster in 2001, when it was created by Steven Spielberg. Not a bad movie.

You can try the AI chatbot chatGPT yourself on the internet. It is quite entertaining, as long as you keep disagreeing with the
answers it provides. Eventually it either gives up and agrees with you, makes rude proposals, or refuses to continue to talk.

Just like the good old human helpdesk call centers, it does not provide any useful help. So those call centers can be easily
replaced with AI, just as easy as advertising agencies, fox news presenters (as truth or lie does not matter) and some politicians.

At one point somebody will connect two of those AI engines together and then they can argue among themselves.
Maybe the internet will explode then.
 
we're looking at implementing AI at our firm, its a GDPR nightmare.
great for simple things like automating tasks etc for IT, but in terms of LLM datasets and searches and subsequent result sets leaking sensitive data outside the organisation is proving a challenge.
its great for building websites (theres a few great ones) \ job specs \ and formal correspondence though.
it needs to be embraced not feared

If, as you say (and I can believe) there are/can be data leakage issues then I can't agree that "it needs to be embraced not feared" - far from it!
 
in the sense of its "self volunteered" senstive information being leaked out, when searching, and then made worse by refining that search....it all goes into the "Machine" to help others....suddenly a customer will ask something about a competitor and it will answer it, due to the other competitor performing previous searches

Agreed, but sometimes that's quite difficult if you're after information on specific issues/products/people/places, etc.

I would suggest, that you strenuously try avoid agreeing to any and all optional cookies - or even cancel visits to particular sites where there are no options to cancel some/all cookies - because allowing those could open you up to data mining you really want to avoid, and which in turn builds up pictures of you and other links where you may have expressed opinions/stated stuff about a subject of interest - and which an AI might later incorporate in the "information" it gives to you or others.

Lie on profiles wherever possible, and even then give as little profile info as possible (I do!) .

Also, replace mainstream browsers & search engines which are notorious for "leaking" sensitive info with ones that at least claim not to do that (well maybe:rolleyes:?).

And basically "keep your eyes and your brain wide open" all the time!

PS: the "problem" is then that you are probably the only one amongst the thousands/millions/billions of people who don't take those precautions, and thus result in the leakage of all sorts of stuff/"info" that may or may not be true!
