Hi,

What dish size would I need to pick this up? I'm in London.

Thanks

Hello

Welcome to the forum XeonSX

Well big would be the word that springs to mind
see the footprint on this non active link

I am sure someone nearer to you than I am will give you an idea of size

Hi, Which channels/transponders are you after? I can get quite a few of them about 20 miles east of you. Not brilliant signal, but good enough on my TD110 ( 1m) for some.

If you tell me what TPs, I'll check them one by one, too many to go through otherwise.

One of the weaker channels that I can pick up below, Enter film, has occasional popping and squeeking.

Thanks for answers, I am actually trying to pick up 11389H that Enter Film is on. Unfortunately I cannot pick up any from that beam, also on 1m. Would you say with confidence that 1.5M dish will be able to pick this up?

Thanks again.

Impossible to say as strange things start happening with extreme fringe reception. Reception can vary wildly over a few miles. Unfortunately the only way to find out is to be prepared to try a few dishes of increasing size.

9 fta channels and 1 encrypted on that transponder received on suffolk coast. picture and sound gets blocky during rain, 1m dish.

Hi, I know this is an old thread, but i am getting a lock on this, very weak but locked, conditions are not the best and I think I will be able to get a clear picture once conditions improve,

This is only the transponder I have had a go for, I will open a thread for this in fringe after further test :).

1.2 CM dish skybox f3s.

Tricky marginal reception here on my TD88. Any serious cloud is enough to lose signals, today i'm getting MusicBox on 10806H 30000 and thats only just locking.

Same for me at this location -- with same dish /receiver setup -- got a clear picture for a while -- but pixelated now the cloud is back .

no lock on music box t.p. though just now --" Piltdownpaul " although i,v had it ok in the past -----

The V transponders are strong here, I have just gone through all Amos 3 transponders and getting 163 TV channels.

On lyngsat listed as Amos 2/3 so i dont know without further investigation on my behalf. I was just chuffed i got anything from either.

I use all three, Kos, Lyng and fly but i came to fly last and consequently dont use it so much.

..little more to the east it's ok with 120cm ;)

Amos is a pita to receive. I get some channels with good lock margin, mainly on Amos 2 but 3 is more difficult. I find that 3's signals vary a lot... Sometimes I can see 11222, 11258, 11336 and 11389 on my Fibo with no problems but most of the time they are below lock. The 1.5m Gibby gets 11389 and 11258 most of the time but it's right on the edge. 11336 and 11222 are locking but not watchable.

I find the most stable TPs on 4w to be 10729h and 10759h which are all doable on a 1.2m dish all the time with some small rain margin...but not much.

I've Never really had a play here, what an interesting satellite, I am probably also pulling 5W in from a blind scan. but a good place to monitor.

Yes will be interesting to ser what you get from it on the 1.8m...
Yes CJ, I don't know where to start TBH, I will have a few unknown avenues to discover from 61 W/ 57 E, then all C band c/l plus extras what the 1.2 cant do, fringe on the 1.8 is going to be exciting
