For Sale Another 1224 - almost the same as the last one.....

I can't do much with it as I need the brackets for my CM, have you got those bits or can make them? If so grab it :)

I haven't the bits or the knowledge or contacts to make them, which is why I asked previously in the thread if they are easily obtainable which I'm guessing not else you would be tempted yourself.
I get there is a spirit on the forum where we sell to each other and show projects off as we do them but in my case im not in a position to start any project yet but would like the components for when I do so a 1224 would be an upgrade on the polar mount I currently have.

Hi CH,

I dont want to tread on anyones toes but if it goes unsold I would love it.

Regards

If you have an electric drill, 11mm HSS drill and a hacksaw you can easily make up an adapter plate to get this 1224 to fit a 1.2m CM dish.

You can buy a piece of steel plate pre-cut to a usable size from eBay and some angle iron from B&Q. All that would be needed would be to drill a few holes and assemble it with nuts, washers and bolts. There is no need for any welding.

So far only Gap30 has offered to buy with no real caveats on dish suitability, statalite has asked for CM compatibility and the lid which requires more parts than are available.

So please pm me over the weekend with an address and I’ll give you the payment detail by return with a full cost . If not then statelite is next in line.

I have been encouraged by what @moonbase said with regards tools for making the mounting plate.
So the other part missing is a cover for the electronics? I wonder if this could be 3d printed and if it would be cost effective.
I thought I was next in line after rusty but I need to weigh it up as above, but again it's sellers preference as to who is in the queue to buy.

You are - next - in the queue.

I had mentioned 3D printing as a possible option on the lid, there is also the detail provided by TJ on the cutting of an inox plate for the front for various reflector compatibility. I believe the old plate I gave him had holes cut for different models, but the IRTE is the only one that I had definite knowledge of.

if rusty does not want it i will take it

Day later....

Reading through this thread of definite offers to buy, "gap" was in front of you. You were pondering, "gap" was committing, check the sequence of topics.
I must be unfamiliar with the etiquette of buying on forums. I thought we queued up in the UK and had some manners, clearly not.

Sorry for my earlier ranti am in a 5hithead of a mood, agreed to buy a house with a massive back garden

Sale all agreed seller has changed his mind

No worries, as you appear to have found a breach in the forum swear filter.

Next time it'll cost you .

In the meantime, the wording has been removed.

My friend runs a 3D printing business, I wonder if he could do a run of them if he had one to copy from.
My 3D printer can only do 150x150x150 and I have a feeling that part is wider than that?
