Astra 2F: Central & East Europe Discussion

cool, whats with the other 2F transponders, can you maybe check them, that would be kind! another question, what does 55-57 % mean in ptractice, useable signal without dropouts?10964 H (right at the moment 6,0x db)10994 H (right at the moment 2,0x db)11052 H (right at the moment 6,50 db)11126 V (right at the moment 2,47 db)p.s. no idea what the mater is with 10994 and 11126, but i hope sooooo much, that the BBC transponders later in 2013 will not be like these two...

What size dish is that?

All TPs on 2F are 55-57% with a Technomate 6900 I believe which means viewable, but there will be drop outs in bad weather etc.

Brno and Vienna should be about the same. I would like to know how 1.8m and 2.1m look and compare.

On both dishes. Long before the 2F saga I did due diligence on their alignment to ensure I was receiving all the Astra 28.2 FTA channels catalogued by kingofsat. But I have no skew on dish or LNB (simply did not know how skew worked at that time). I have another dish installation, also in Augsburg - 85 cm with prime focus on 28.2 and additional extension arm with LNB for 19.2; slightly obstructed by a nearby building. So far no problems with 1N or any others at 28.2; I'll be checking 2F tomorrow.
Should be getting some medium snowfall this weekend, so that will be the real test.
well if you get 2F on the 85cm, then I will be royally *******!!
Not surprisingly, 2F on my 1 metre dish comes and goes, currently OK at a staggering 50% signal, the best I have seen. Hopefully I can survive until New Year, and then will see about tweaking the dish and probably upgrading to 125cm (snow allowing). Apart from the cost of a 150, it would mean revamping my mast setup to support both the 150 and my 60cm for 19.2E. The 125 will slip in without issues.

Apologies to Analoguesat, just updated my profile.......really am at Neuburg not Munich

Which receiver are you running and which LNB?

If I was to upgrade dish, I would go two sizes higher as a security to probably a Gibertini 1,5m. Problem then is mounting it.

Hello to all
I can't receive any of Astra 2F' new transponders here,in Kiev
It was nothing on my crazyscan when they were on Astra 1N, but with new Astra 2F the s/n are about 1-2.5db with 1.1m Triax and Inverto Black Ultra LNB
Does anybody know when transfer from Astra 2B will be?

Just finished at the 85 cm installation. Weather overcast but no snow yet. Regarding BBC One HD test on 2F/11023 I was able to get a lock with some difficulty, but then only a series of still images, certainly not motion TV. Could be down to partial dish obstruction by part of building. I rechecked kingofsat to see which channels have already migrated to 2F (Ch4HD, 4Seven, 5*, 5USA ...). Curiously, they all came in with perfect reception (strength 90%, quality 80%); by way of comparison, 1N signals were at 90/90.
That would suggest that the 11023 transponder is the quirky one; the others seem fine.
Cannot comment on Sky subscription channels (Ch5HD etc.); I'm FTA only.

Hello Guys,

satdx in St. Pölten/Austria reports in different forums full reception of all TP with 2,3 m Hirschmann!

Regards Montafon Guy!

Think Ive got all the reports up to here now. If you see Ive missed yours on the map my apologies & please let me know :)

central italy
50 km south of Pescara
3 mt prime focus dish
lnb + feed Invacom dual output
40 mt cable run
dreambox 8000

the news 2F transponders are locked and the signal on the receiver show 35%.
sometimes freeze on the screen.... c4 frequency is a little bit low than others.
im at limits of reception... i will tray with a new lnb skew or dish allineament .

Stilobox

Well done stilobox - yours is the furthest south east report with some success we have had so far. You wont have any bad weather capability in that though, so looks like over 4m is needed in central Italy.

Map updated to here.

Looks like the marker for the 1.3m in Alcudia is in the wrong place on the map.

Unfortunately my Italian is almost none existent, so if someone can keep posting occasional roundups of the reports like above Id be very grateful :)

Hi,Slovakia,Žilina.
I can recieve TPs 10964H,11053H,11126V only 1-2 hours at noon.10994H and 11023H are weak-maybe interference of 11008V.
Highest CNR I have ever seen on 11023H was 5,8dB(need 6,5dB).
Dish-Kathrein CAS23 220cm,LNB Invacom and Inverto,receiver DR.HD F15.

I also don't understand much Italian but i'll try.

Now, my Wife understands Italian very well, but hasn't the slightest idea about "Statlites".

Will chip in if needed, though - SWMBO and I might be able to work as a Team ........................ (First time for everything)
