Astra 2F: Central & East Europe Discussion

My own pet theory is that the Jetstream has been much further south than normal for the last couple of months. This has coincided with a prolonged period of wet and windy weather that Spain has suffered - very unusual for the South of Spain. I think this unusual positioning (over northern Africa mostly, rather than over France or UK) has altered the atmospherics and reduced the already poor UK signal considerably . Without making any changes to our community system (although I was tempted to change our LNB or tweak the dish a bit), the signal returned to 'normal summer' levels in the last few weeks, and guess what, the Jetstream is also where it should be - north of Spain. Any changes that people have made to their system may just be pure coincidence (or not!)

Hello
I live in Poland, I receive a UK beam on the 3m antenna below, I encourage you to read my article about this item.
You have to translate.

very interesting, especially the use of concentric metal circles (looks like C-band) to increase signal reception...is that applicable to a "standard"ku-band lnb?
Where could I find this system ?and fit it on a Ku-band Lnb?

thank you!! Is it only for prime focus?

With such a large antenna, it was difficult for me to get the right focus distance and this my own construction ensured it perfectly.

Yes, only for the large parabola in the photo.
For an offset antenna there must be a different feed but the whole set is heavy enough to use with a small antenna.

Still unhindered reception of 2F UK beam throughout a day with 2.4m.

Excellent result. Your signal is about 1db stronger than mine on 1.8m. The only frequency that I don't currently have in my lock is 12382, but I will try to catch it again if the conditions are good. It looks like I will have to get an antenna over 2m in size. Before that I will but the elevation motor was tried, I wonder if I can get a signal. Thank you very much for the report.
