Astra 2G: Central & East Europe Reports

Reception pretty poor this last week or so. Nothing except the wide beams in the evenings despite re checking my dish ;(

Must be a heck of a side lobe to be getting everything this far down south in Greece!

It is a heck of a side lobe, but its the same for 2F and 2E and 2G since I get all the UK beams and I'm thankful for it!

Only 2 UK beam transponders can be received here with 2.4 meters, the rest gets "eaten" by too strong EU transponders.

and where is Melmac? deep france or turkey????

Ask Alf. :)
Joke aside, I thought it was clear from my previous post (Astra 2E). Besides geo coordinates written in the signature...

OK,so Slovenia it is!!

From my location ( 50.08 N ;11.24 E) I did a continuous reception from the Beam G UK.
even with 1,80m I am really at the limit to get something permanent
11053 H stable for only 50 minutes
11068V stable for about 180 minutes
11023H stable for about 4,5 hours
and the longest 11126 V about 7 hours
Of course, it can be completely different from day to day.

The UK spot exists for me, too, at a great distance, captured with a 1.50m amateur antenna.
The signal is not so "insidious" that it can't be seen :)

As I said, the results can vary greatly from day to day.
Yesterday I did another continuous reception (a bit late in the day).
I was able to receive the 4 frequencies of 2G UK beam for much longer.
Weather was about the same as on the 28th.

Great..it can be seen that 11023 h is disturbed by only half of the vertical of the European beam..

Only 11.023 H remains on 2G UK beam, almost 2dB below lock.
