SES ASTRA, a SES company (Paris: SESG) (LuxX: SESG), announced that after additional technical checks, the launch of its new satellite ASTRA 3B is now scheduled for April 9, 2010. The company said that the satellite will be launched into space between 18:59 and 19:48 local time from the Kourou Space Centre in French Guiana.

ASTRA 3B was built by EADS Astrium in Toulouse using a Eurostar E3000 platform. ASTRA 3B will be located at 23.5 degrees East, ASTRA's orbital position for delivering DTH broadcast services mainly to the Benelux and Eastern Europe as well as two-way broadband services across Europe and the Middle East.

my first time watching a live launch for a satellite..

and the clock stops at 42 seconds...!!!!!

will they launch within this window....?!?!?!?

Theres half an hour left in tonights window yet so as long as the clock restarts in the next 20 minutes we will be ok. (The clock is reset to 7:00 for the automatic sequencing)

Heres a pic of the launcher on the pad :)

this bird is jinxed!!

they are investigating "an anomaly"

new launch date to be annnounced later....

LOL, that happens because we are in coverage zone...

We were in 1K coverage zone - it blew.
We are in 3B coverage zone - it seems not taking off at all.

only 1M was lucky exception :)

Somebody forgot the matches. O-no

Reports from French Guiana say that the twice-cancelled launch of Astra 3B will not be reinstated much before mid-May.
