Only one problem with that dish is that when it is sold we will not see how it looked like. So, some pictures and screenshots are appreciated. Nice dish BTW. After minor restoration it would serve for some years and years.

I know it may be a minor thing, but I would think there could a copyright-issue. I know this is the web and all, bit I think linking to pics is fine, whereas copying without permissions may not be strictly PC. Admins?

Have removed most of the photos, as they are not ours to post, sure he won't mind leaving two, as there's a direct link to his auction.

I do not see any copyright issues about pictures, as they are posted by individual forum members and those individuals are responsible for what they are posting. But, OK, no complains at all. I just do not like when after item is sold we are left with link which usually leads to nothing. So thread will be full of dead links and nothing more.

This is precisely why the forum used to have a rule about always uploading photos to our servers, to avoid dead links. It's more difficult when the photos are not the poster's own as there are still the copyright problems to consider.

We don't have the rule any more but we still strongly encourage uploading of photos rather than linking.

I think that here we can probably find thousands of pictures not belonging to forum users, they were simply copied from internet and posted. Are you going to reexamine all of the pictures posted by users in this forum?
Speaking about e-bay and others second-hand sites: people who sell their stuff over the internet want their pictures being visible to as many people as possible. That was their intent. So, it is little bit strange to speak about copyrighting of those pictures. This is IMHO.
But, at the same time if some of mine pictures were erased by admin than I would expect similar approach to pictures posted by other users. Same rules to everybody.

This section, which is to bring members' attention to large dishes coming up for sale, will always be difficult to strike the right balance with regards to photographs. We try to operate a "sensible" policy because, as you rightly point out, the dish in question is up for sale and more publicity is good publicity. Just don't go overboard with enthusiastic links and copying!

The members' satellites and general satellite is surely different. There we are bringing our own dishes and others we might have seen around and about to the attention of others. It is quite reasonable to expect the photos to be our own. or at least with the photo taker's permission.

Got a matching pair now :) A mate had the box I got the dish.

It's a great workbench to make a modified bracket for the lnb. I can then fit it to the existing dish.
