BBC Prime - no reception today 1st Feb 2009

Googling around I cannot see any references to Viaccess 4.0,
only Viaccess with MGEG 4.
Not quite the same thing.............

Has anyone seen 4.0 before,
or is it just the BBC who does not know what they are doing????

BBC Prime now reported to be on 9E in Viaccess 3.0 11996V

According to my usual card supplier the only reason it doesn't update correctly in a softcam is Viacess trying to stop card sharing

Can't see that one working :-rofl2

Satellite: Eurobird 9
Frequency: 11996
Modulation: QPSK
Polarity: Vertical
Symbol Rate: 27500
FEC: ¾
Conditional Access: Viaccess 4.0

This is what I received in the BBC Prime faq

Just wondering if one can get a refund for the remaining subscription period as a result of this move.
Isn't it a breach of contract to change the satellite and to ask subscribers to "just move your dish to 9E"?
After all, at the time of signing the contract, one puts his faith that the service is transmitted from a certain satellite and not from any other satellite that the provider may choose within the subscription period.
Also, are they offering any compensation or extra viewing period, just to make subscribers happy?
Quite honestly, if this happened to me, I would cancel my subscription and demand a refund.
After all, the channel's content is just a continuous repeat of what they have shown all the past few years, with the occasional "new" title.
Just to hear English language in the background is simply not worth it.

It seems it was a BBC problem.

I have been pestering them with e-mails.
They have re-authorised card and it is working.

They also confirm that the new service is Viaccess 4.0
and will work in the Red CAM

Oops..........

Spoke too soon.
It worked for about 10 minutes then stopped.

On the blue button menu, the last item after Software Config
is the SoftCam Menu.

This allows me to interrogate the cards and Enable/Disable
EMM and ECM.

Does any one have any thoughts on whether to Enable or Disable??

The Irdeto card show lots of info here, Viaccess is very limitsd.

I have got the card working.

See my post here _http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellite/dreambox-general/144910-keyfly-keyless-conditional-access-module-cam.html#post818134

But it does not seem to have updated the card.
The card works in the CAM, but when put in the ordinary slot, with Scam
it still refuses to decrypt the signal.

All very odd.

Did you try latest CCcam or Mgcamd?
Why do you insist on using it in the card reader slot instead of the CAM?
