Just Sharing This Bbc productions - the war of the worlds, i'm looking forward to this.

Absolutely dire, from the iconic album opening lines of the writer being spoken by a woman to the pregnant smoking mistress cohabiting in Victorian England, it ticked various 2019 moral and attitude boxes but disrespected the original story by sidelining it with all the modern day nonsense. CGI was par for the course and I ended up skipping through to look for the unleashing of the heat ray to find that reminded me more of The Day the earth stood still remake than WotW, won't be bothering with the other two episodes.

Since they already have an accomplished director within the cast, I'm unsure why they didn't let Mr Carlyle have a go at this.

Glaswegians taking on the tripods might have made this worth its prime time slot.

I am glad that I recorded this episode & was able to fast forward as the action was very slow let's hope episode 2 is more exiting I will record it just in case :)
Episode 1 was like a cross between Wuthering Heights & World War-1 not a good combination.

Since this is the three part spectacular, tomorrows episode should have the artillery defending London around Kingston/Richmond decimated, the incident on the way to Europe with the destruction of two Tripods by the torpedo ram ship, and the beginnings of Earth under the Martians.

Can't wait

Yes any period drama where they wore bonnets, there are many many to choose from, they are like Bovril or Twiglets, love them or hate them

I fell asleep through the second episode so I caught up with the remainder this morning.

If anything it has slowed down, did HMS Thunderchild get sunk by a heat ray or two, or did I just miss it ?

Thank you for the bonnet explanation,
I'll have something more to focus on when watching period drama, which, btw,I enjoy very much!

Oh I enjoy watching them ONCE:-wow

Completely forgot the last episode was on tonight.

I had a spare 40 minutes to watch the last episode first thing this morning, I wish I could get that time back, in particular the soliloquy

What was that about the plant enclosure breaking and the clouds parting ?

To call it pretentious would be to insult things that are pretentious.
