What is the best 4K receiver with powerful tuner
Using octagon sx88+ SE but I think the tuner is not that powerful
Is there any receiver which can connect to the mobile via an APP and show all the menu for dish settings.
 
Any Enigma2 receiver can work with mobile apps.

Not sure what you mean by "powerful tuner" as they are not measured in horsepower...

From personal tests, the best one I have used for tuner sensitivity is the Octagon SF8008.
It is E2 so can be controlled by the WebIf in a browser.

Powerful I mean sensitive which can boost the weak signal and make it stronger

While using webif is it possible to change between satellites and TPS
 
I tried sf8008 but it was freezing and picture quality was not very good.
There was also a delay when changing channels.
I prefer a receiver which can connect to the App.

The box cannot improve a bad signal or a bad picture.
 
I wonder if the WebIF on the SX88 4K does what Gladstones is wanting :confused:

I had a experience in the past you get solid lock on weak tp by better/ sensitive tuner

whats 4k available fta , mostly demos :N
future proof ? 10 years ? maybe nothing else
or get one from sky & pay @ watch 4k (rip off)

Equally, it could go the way of 3D, down the tubes
 
you cant go wrong with octagon sf8008 - tuner more sensitive than edision mio 4k

for any E2 receiver you can download and use SATFINDER app configured for E2 ip address - i use it up ladder to peak signal in real time over wifi

3D goes down the tubes every ten years or so, then makes a worthy reappearance.




upgrading to higher resolution often fixes things.

 
how do you compare sx88se tuner with sf8008 tuner
 
Well not sure about sensitivity but the sx88 cannot lock sub 1250 symbol rates. The sf8008 in contrast can lock very low SRs on manual scan just not blind scan
 
Anybody have a experience of 88 and 8008 tuner sensitivity thanks
