Broadband Speed Part 3

Well, it is supposed to be symmetrical!

Hmm we signed up for fttc as its a bit cheaper than what Im paying atm

Are you impressed with the huge increase in speed? :-rofl2:-rofl2

Any Wireless providers up your way yet?

Bizarrely, now that all but one of the houses in my village are on Wireless, Openreach are about to install FTTH. You couldn't make it up. I wonder how many of us will abandon Wireless? I shan't. Boleaux to BT.

No wireless providers anywhere around here - Id guess the fttc line config hasnt been set up yet seeing as Im getting EXACTLY the same speed as I was before. Ive been promised a minimum of 9 meg (everybody bow down at the insane speeds :D !!)

Ive spoken to a very friendly Plusnet customer service bodkin & he agrees we aint getting what we were promised, so its been escalated to OpenReach.... So now I wait for OR to work their magic on the ratty old cables round here

I am still waiting for TrueSpeed to get into my area (probably never)... in the meantime, nothing changed.

ISTR, I once referred to that BT "service" as "OpenRetch"

Thats a bit better - Plusnet have got Openreach to work their magic

Just need the line to settle down now, but thats as fast as it gets out here.

ANd before anyone says thats pathetic - yes I know it is - but Ive been online for 20 years and this is by far the fastest connection Ive ever had! :D

Hasving spent 15 years limping along on a 2 meg connection in Galashiels & 2 years in Kelso this is a revelation!

Ditto, we had almost 20 years at 1.5 meg until the 4G router came along. With the lockdown, it's made video calling much more pleasant....

Methinks we've been upgraded - not bad for Fixed Wireless Access

my speed has not changed and not below 460mb in the past 2 years :-ohmy
i am thinking to upgrade to 750mb but it would cost me 40Eur extra per month :(

You need to move from the backwoods into the broadband etopia.
