Well I was looking at GT Media V7 5SX. I think I am going to align 19.2 and see if there is anything of interest, might just use my LG TV sat tuner for now. Looking online there doesn't appear to be much on 19.2 that has English audio so I think my options are going to be limited for English content, 28 might have to do! I was given an old Humax Freetime HDR-1100S, not sure if I can use that for anything other than 28?

I really miss the days (2008) when I had my Dreambox 500 with a monoblock, 19 and 13, such much open back then!
 
One HD, on 19.2E, has a bit of English audio option, including The Rockford Files, Poirot, and plenty of music channels, plu they have a FTA sports channel, and show many football games, FTA.

Please could you tell me which is the strongest channel on 19.2 to fine tune the dish? Also do I need to change the LNB skew? The guy who sold me the dish told me the skew was setup for 28.
 
For 19.2, it doesn't matter which channel you use. It's more the case for Thor or Hellasat alignment . The LNB skew adjustment will not make any difference for 19.2. If you were aligning to 39E or 30W, you would have to turn the lnb slightly.

At the end of the day, it's what interests you... For some people, there nothing to watch, so they abandoned satellite.

For me, I enjoy 19.2 mtv partyzone videos that arnt shown on MTV UK. But I don't watch or bother with Astra 28E, as there's nothing of interest for me.

If you get a multistream capable receiver some of the French and Italian channels on 5°W have an original language option for imported programmes.
 
If you need 5w on the meter im happy to provide another userdb with the channels.☺️

I know its DVB-S2X but im not sure if 5w works on that meter for the DVB-T2 feeds.

I don't think they're S2X, they lock on my old Satlink 6933 and fully work on the Edision Primo which are both S/S2 only. @newgen2005 might have to just search for the transponder rather than using a channel list.

The regular DTH Fransat transponders shouldn't be a problem but there is very little FTA (A Fransat box would be required). The multistreams may be more difficult but being on the doorstep of France I'd say there is a decent chance, at least in good weather.

I’m back on 28e, the wife wanted the FTA UK stuff. I may have a go at getting another sat at some stage but this will do for now. A massive thank you to Mike1 for helping me with my sat finder and the others on here that gave me advice.
 
I m sure on Guernesey a classic Yagi antenna will get you the French "tnt" bunch & its language options,from some Cotentin (Cherbourg) or St Malo transmitter.Maybe both.
"good" channels are Arte,the 5,the 14,the 13 (parliament but good reports & films when Parliament does not sit) the2 and 3 after 10PM ...stick to these the rest is mostly trash (itv-like)
astra 1 has tv5 FBS and tv5 Europe
Thant s for French stuff
then you get 40+ German channels sme good some trashy. Good deal of sport always FTA
Hotbird,on a monoblock with astra1 gets you Italian,Spanish & exotic stuff.
5w France is same as TNT ,get TNT !!

Are you able to add 28.e please as I don't have any programs stored, I tried scanning but the unit tells me there isn't enough memory to store the channels! I have been using the sat finder for 28.e more so now. I can use as it is to get a signal but ideally id like to be able to view channels.
