Christmas TV was dire

I don't know about you but I found it very hard to find anything worth watching on terrestrial TV over Christmas.

Christmas Day was absolutely terrible. Not a thing on. Just repeat after repeat (Terry and June????), and even the new stuff was mega boring.

I mean, fancy screening Strictly Come Dancing on Christmas Day. That was taking the *i**.

Well, what do you expect? So much of the year, TV is consumed by celeb-making (people with no talent becomes stars), so when the festive season comes round, there is literally no one competent around to entertain us.

I spent Christmas watching stuff on DVD and things I'd downloaded off the Internet. But now Gordon Brown is gonna axe using torrents, looks like that will be coming to an end, too.:-googly
 
Didn't watch too much, spent most of my time eating, drinking and chatting.:)

Did watch the new Doctor Who, but otherwise it was often only on as background.
 
Spent time in conversation, reading, listening to music and walking.

Never really understood why Christmas is expected to be a Telly-fest.

I am no fan of celebrity TV so an awful lot washed straight past me but I did enjoy Doctor Who and some of the films. Pirates of the Carribean was worth watching (although a tad long) and I've been wanting to watch The Incredibles for a while.

I have to agree with Jumpstart - the Christmas TV was absolutely awful, and the TV schedulers should be ashamed of themselves. Even SWMBO has been heard grumbling about just how poor the TV has been.

The new Dr Who was awful - very disappointing. It was about 30 minutes too long with lots of uneccessary padding....

That would be the RTD school of writing effect. With any luck next year's finale will be penned by Moffat.

Some of this years TV was OK, but it did require a bit of planning to find. One surprise was Christine Bleakley looking at the tattoo on Shooting Stars last night, hilarious.

Dire is an understatement. I lloked at the TV listings and thought I would give it a miss. I had lots of new toys to play with anyway.
