Am always expecting (hoping for) more from any Gilmour release, what he has done solo reaches only 'quite ok \ nearly there \ not too bad ' status, suffering from lack of legendary \ memorable stuff compared to PF things.
Personal opinion, no claim of universal fact.
I have to agree with 4wd on this. I'm always hoping for better. As I understand it Gilmour came up with a few random riffs and Phil Manzanera put them together and expanded them into full tracks. That's not to underestimate the source material but it does seem to be a collaborative effort. Much like a lot of PF music in fact.
