Earthquake detection and predictions

Because of the incredibly fertile ground that the volcano produces I suppose.
 
Just big enough to wake you up from a nap.

There are a few very old lava flows down in that part, the closest one is Coso Volcanic Field, but thats a bit outside of the quake zone.

Whole lotta shaking going on......Now they are worried about Coso volcanic field....

We felt the 7.1 here at the ranch, just a little quiver.
 
Athens a few minutes ago - 5.4 / 5.5 with after shocks.
 
There was a smaller one in Southern Turkey. 4.4 around 3am local time.
 
A couple this morning in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Seeing that cloud heading right for the boat, that's stuff of nightmares, especially if it's a pyroclastic flow, get caught up in one of those and you've had it... :-ohmy
 
For them it's probably the equivalent of the town drunk farting, a nuisance, but nothing of consequence and just don't stand downwind of him... :-rofl2

Of course, it's a boy cries wolf scenario, they're used to it, so they're probably too complacent about it and it could lead to many deaths if they don't GTFO of there...

No magma yet, so just a quick steaming of flesh from the bones.

As per the comments in the link, complacency and tourism stupidity is behind the injuries.
