I wouldnt be at all suprirised if Gene Hass doesnt pull the plug of the F1 team soon - the team is woefully underfunded, the cars are desperately slow and they came within an whisker of losing a driver today.
The German media just announced Haas confirmed Nick Schumacher for 2021.

Ye gods that Bahrain outer ring road track is bloody boring. Its effectively an oversized (and painfully dull) layout Scalextric set!

Podium prediction: 1.Bottas 2.Verstappen 3.Russell

Russell has just done the fasted lap on the Scalextric set !

Clanger from Mercedes fitting the wrong tyres to both cars  you could not make this up.

Not a clanger I suspect, done to save the Bottas blushes

But Racing Point certainly look stupid now getting rid of Peres

Ah well, at least Russell didn't have the ignominy of crossing the line first, but then have the win taken away after being disqualified for the tyre farce.

That thought did cross my mind how low can they get
Russell is a future World Champion :):Y

Regardless of what @Analoguesat said about the circuit itself (that had a lot of "merit"), the race itself was quite an "experience" for all concerned, and thus:
- TOTAL congrats to Checo for winning :D - his FIRST WIN has been a lo.......ng time coming but VERY well deserved for that drive from the back of the pack after being "tipped off" by Leclerc. Only Seb's money is kicking him out of the team for next year because, IMHO, he's better than Lance AND Seb!
- same to Estaban for a very solid and strong drive to 2nd after a difficult season.
-TOTAL sympathy to George because he outdrove Valtieri for most of the weekend (FP3 & Quali apart) because - as Toto actually said (and I'm surprised it wasn't "bleeped out"on SKY at the time, but probably will in any subsequent download!) - Mercedes ****ed (but WAS bleeped out HERE!) up his stop during the double-stack pitstop under the safety car, and then there was the slow puncture which ironically appeared to have been caused by debris from his replacement at Williams, Jack Aitken, having that trip into the barrier after the last turn.

As for the rest of the pack, Danil Kyvat beat the "gas man" but is out of AlfaTauri after next week but maybe he'll be back again sometime, and the rest probably "performed as expected"!.

I don't actually think that to be the case - from what I saw on SKY, it was almost "chaos" in the Mercedes pit at the time. (apparently caused by intercom failures??). "Sh1T happens" - and it did!

Not surprised that now Russell is back in the Williams that the only thing many fans are talking about is Alonso doing a few demo laps in an old Renault, though I don't miss the screamer engine sound that many are nostalgic over (video):

Give me the Senna/Prost era V12s & V10s over the irritating 20000RPM V8s any day.

Isn't one of the side effects of COVID 19 a loss of taste?

Congratulations to Wobbles for pipping me to the top step, my choice of driver (Peres) was the cause of my demise. cest la vie

All over for another season - and considering once the Aussie round was scrapped in March I didnt think we would get more than a handful of races (if any). Its certainly been a strange season - thank you to everyone who took part this year. Season 2021 will restart (Covid allowing!) once the Fantasy league reopens which should be at the end of January.

Only 31 points between 1st & 3rd so a lovely tight finish. Checo's engine failure did for me too in race 17 - Id swapped him in on Friday!

As usual the thread will now revert to the off season chat until 2021 launches.

Sad to say I rather lost interest this season. SWMBO's and my own health issues somewhat diverting my concentration LOL. Anyway, thanks to everyone for participating and well done to the podium finishers...

Apparently it was Checo's transmission hydraulics, not the engine, that failed.
