any know the coverage astra 1m ?

solly have a look at http://www.ses-astra.com/business/en/satellite-fleet/satellite-list/astra1m/index.php

There you can read

Footprint
Will become available following launch.

So we all have to wait.

The SatcoDX footprint looks wrong. It's identical to that of 1G/H and after 1KR/L having broader coverage this doesn't make sense. Not the 1st time that SatcoDX makes mistakes in the footprints so i wonder how Tele Satellite International Magazine relies on them.

We know Astra 1M will have coverage over into the Middle East, although its not currently known if thats going to be on one wide beam or two (or more) regional beams

Thanks Analoguesat. That is some really good news.
Hope you are right.

Unfortunately at the moment I cant find the article where I saw the Middle East coverage reference. All the info on the SES site only mentions Europe....

I hope it will be Middle East coverage like 13E and not 2 separate beams for frequency reusage like former planned for Astra 1K.

Frequency reuse on none overlapping spotbeams will come to Europe sooner or later - we are running out of satellite capacity in the skies above Europe, and doubling up on satellite spots is an easy way of getting out of the hole.

They have published fooprint for the satellite.
regretfully won't coverage middle east.

Unfortunately you're right. Have a look at 4W. And this effects the Southern Aegean. /OT

It was supposed to start with Astra 1K as far back as 2002. The Russkies botched the launch and she went swimming with the fishes.

He he i remember this very well.

Current coverage of 1M sounds very promising to me - at least I can have hope to receive it using 1.6 or 1.8 meter dish.
