The FTA French channels cease on 5W this week on the night of the 23rd/24th.

You will need to swing you dishes round to 9E to continue with free channels, or get hold of a TNTSat (19E) or Fransat (5W) setup.

Remind me what French FTA are on 9W ....... please

There's more than I thought. Must get this sorted - thanks :)

as in no more transmitted on 5W, or as in now encrypted only?
(In other words do I need to move the LNBs on the T55, or do I need to renew the Fransat subscription?)

Encrypted (Fransat) or FTA DVB-S2 multistream PLS (11509H) only!

You ll need to get a new one

Today's mini-Project is to move an offset LNB on SWMBO's personal dish from 5W to 9E.

As stated above. I managed to get a Fransat receiver with legal everlasting card. If you want more than 9E its worth getting ..

Incredible they even encrypt QVC France,ARTE,TV5 Monde FBS at 5 west  only 15 fta tv here now + test cards & info.

With the right equipment though (a PC DVB-S2 card that's multistream PLS compatible), there's tons of FTA channels on 5°W still. Including the France Télévisions channels! [emoji1]

It's a shame they're not regular FTA any more, but I for one am glad to finally have all 26-odd French digital terrestrial services without having to worry about TNTSAT or Fransat encryption.

Yes should be fine this is my spec
  • Dual-core, 2.3GHz Intel Core i3-6100U processor
  • 8GB RAM

I've found 4k runs the cpu at it highest 70/80 percent on my laptop, normal scanning and hd no problems,

I am wanting to use more than one card so I will be upgrading to a 4k gaming pc, but if just one card this laptop is fine

@william-1 CPU on HD channels as you can see it doesn't touch it,

If your like me and not good with pc its frustrating trying to make it do what you want it to, but will get there slow but sure :)
