Anyone used the GT Media V7 SX? (DVB-S2X)

Ive purchased one I'm really impressed how well it works with my dark motor. It moves using USUALS with no issues what so ever.

The menus are very simple with an accurate signal meter which is the main attraction . On the plus side it has no IPTV features that your never going to use. It uses the same menus as the yellow Freesat finder V8.

For £33 on ebay not a bad little box good picture with DVBSX. Only tested 5W so far with DVBX.

The remote is very comfortable also.

Just thought I let everyone know if they need a cheapo box.

Ive had a far better experience with this then my SX88!!!

Yes, the GT Media range of receivers are good...

It’s one of their older boxes and is no longer supported with firmware upgrades. You’ll find all you need to know about it here GTMEDIA Forum - Index page
Really? It had a software update in early December last year..are you meaning the 7HD? which has had no updates since 2019..

It's the S2X, available for just on £30 if you cast the net a bit wider.
Some suppliers will also throw in a USB dongle with the receiver.

Indeed!!! Ho Lee Fook moment. Xs and Vs and 7’s and 8’s and 9’s. Some array of model numbers. Not surprised so many are purchasing the incorrect model version. That’s why I posted the forum link. That should clarify things.

Its the GT Media V7 S2X :)

Your right no updates / further support its only a FTA fun box.

I wouldnt purchase if you need encrypted or CI access.

Its handy to have a box with an accurate signal meter these days as you cant use the one in Engima 2 or even on some TM models. It has the same level meter OSD as the first edition Freesat Finder V8.

I purchased this thinking it wouldnt be able to support motorised but was pleasantly supprised !

Add the receiver to your profile. The remote control has the same layout (if not functionality) to the manufacturer's 4k/combo product(s)

I did not like my one so sent it back for a full refund.

Viewed the DVB-S2X/8PSK 3 x tv on 33.1°E no impressed better selection of TV @ 5°west with the SX88+
