Interesting Solution re. The PVR Conundrum?

You may find a conventional HDD works ok. The GTMedia GTX Combo I have will not work properly with SSD's, but a conventional one works fine.

Found an old WD 250GB HDD and that works like a dream.

Have rejigged the supplied SSD as backup mass storage for our photos and music - double bubble, so well happy :Y

It is not the first time that I heard such issues in a satellite PVR receiver.
How is it possible that an older and slower drive works better than a faster (so faster) SSD? It would be the opposite.
I never explained this. Anyone has a good explanation?

Might be something to do with the write speed? Not sure for certain though...
