Is anyone able to record Sky Arts HD

Hi, guys. Seems that this topic got much attention. The version from Sky Arts HD channel would be much higher quality in comparison to Youtube or MediaFire bitrate.

Premium Media Fire file is 3341 Kbps Video bitrate and with sound of 128 Kbps


Sky Arts HD bitrate from 2004 from Isle Of Wight (similar recording)
MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x1080 25fps 7264 Kbps
Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch 384kbps

The multi-channel sound would be a huge improvement.

There is still one airing on Sunday left : )

Conclusion: the concert (in Bratislava) was recorded in AAC and hence any "improvement" is extrapolated.

Shame, since electronic music could have been produced in much higher quality.

But: being a fan of HIFI myself and owning amplifier from the 80ies, I think the market shrinked and most people are neither educated nor do they own equipment to hear any difference. What YouTube delivers is "good enough".

So, from the producer's point of view, why spend the extra money?

Not forgetting the vast majority of YouTube views will be on portable devices, rarely with more than one loudspeaker, or with ear buds with a manufacturing price well within the single dollar range.
