Hi all :)
I'm new to the forums, and just wanted to say they are a really good source of info on sat systems and the like... keep up the good work :)

I'm contemplating on upgrading to a HD Receiver which is quite a jump for me since I've been using the Technomate TM-3100D for quite some time...
Since I'm already familiar with the Technomate brand, I had a look at their 6800 and 6900, but it just didn't seem to click with me...

So I came across the AZBox Premium, and just wanted to know if there was anyone who had purchased it (or the Elite) and had any serious problems with it... I just want to know if it's really worth it's value, and, from what I've heard, it's a pretty good receiver, with a Linux OS and Wi-Fi and the sort...

Thanks :D

AZ box is still in beta.

We are waiting for an upgrade, promised to be next week.

I have an Elite and it works very well, still some minor bugs but no big problem.

I think it is a good box,

I have been watching this box with avid interest for a while now, and i think in the near future it will be a hard box too beat.

I think ill end up purchasing one in the near future, but i'm waiting as dig deep said for bugs to be ironed out first

Thanks

Still have to find a shop in London that actually sells it :S

Extremely good value but lots of problems.

The box is trying to do a lot of things, hence the good value. But the effort to solve all these different problems means that effort is too thinly spread.

Have decided to look at other possibilities, i.e Dreamboxes etc..

Thanks for your help :)

a good receiver if you want to watch 4:2:2 feeds

Has anyone an opinion update on this box? I am looking around for a new one and the DM8000 looks good but way too expensive. The AzBox looks great, everything I need, 2 tuners and all!
But I noticed there were some bugs in the beta. Does anyone know if there is an good solid release now and how it compares to the DM models?

I had my box running now for several months. It is a good reciever, nice HD and easy to manage but still not ready for everything that it should do.
If You just want to have an easy box for watching Tellie then this is what You need. Still some problem with it but nothing that disturbs the normal Tellie watching

Hi

I'm new to SAT topic and currently I'm looking for some device and i would prefer linux box to be able tweak it with some updates/modules and also need card sharing and don't know if it can work in non-linux box. Where i can see easy comparison of all linux boxes? (HW, issues, pros, cons etc.) I like features of DM8000 and how many modules are there however it seems its video quality is not very good. So any suggestions? There is no general forum where i can write this question so I'm writing here as current candidate is AZ Pro however i see it has currently couple of bugs. But i want to understand what are its HW capabilities...

Hi dig deep Have these issues been sorted yet please mate? Can you use the Enigma 2 software for the Dreamboxs or does it use it's "own" version of Linux please? How often (and when was the last update) of software please? And last but no means least!! would you buy one now or is there better for the money please? Sorry for so many Q's but I like to get me monies worth!!!!! Thanks for all help/replies.

Hi Decoder,
Im using its own software. The last update was 11th july b ut you can check on the azbox site. My box is running quiet well at the moment so not updating it yet. Was using the feeds of the world cup as they were 7sec ahead of normal screening in uk & ireland. Very useful. Would I buy now ..probally but I would have a good look around before hand.
