Is viasat reachable in west ireland

ya i get around 97% on 11766h european but no nordic on a 2.4m fortec star dish but its only acting as a 1.4m dish very hard to set up.

After todays gales its probably acting more like a 43cm dish :-rofl2

i have it facing thor 1w for tv2 pl hd channels norway as my 1.2m andrew was loosing signal in heavy rain, the wind was very strong and rain beating down but still no signal loss with fortec 2.4m dish stayed at 80% quality on openbox.

Yeh I have 1.1 triax and get 45-50% in good weather and nothing in rain, going try again in the morning to see if the transponder are strong in the morning

viasat are stronger at 11am to 4.30pm after that the signal gets weaker, did you try during these hours

No it's has been between 5-9 in the evening, so wish me luck 2moro morning, where are you In the west of ireland

co mayo, viasat sd can be got here in mayo with chanel master 1.8m dish, nearly got 11727h27500 before with 2.4m fortec and openbox but just wouldnt lock, you really need a very sensitive reciever to get viasat, did u try tv2pl hd 1west with your 1.8m dish, you should get them strong if the dish is any good

I've a dm800hd and a thecnomAte 5200, so I dunno, what % snr were u getting on viasat, mine is totally blank

only 15% quality on openbox but needs around 20-25% to clear, you might need a first strike satellite meter or installer to align it on viasat as they can tell if dish is out of shape, how high and far away are the trees in front of dish.

On my F15 I can lock the following Vertical tp's.

11747 6.1 dB (36% on AzBox)
11785 4.8 (27)
11823 4.8 (27)
11862 5.7 (34)
11900 4.9 gone after i tweaked 11747.
11938 4.7 (27)
11977 4.7 (27)

This allows me to scan in the TV channels all encrypted but I can listen to the radio stations a few of which are FTA.
The F15 is more sensitive than the AzBox, I could only get 11747 30% and 11862 27% before I looped it through to the F15.

did you ever try openbox mate, i got 4.1 db but just wouldnt lock fully, did u ever get 11727h

No, don't know anything about Openbox sorry. I got the F15 because I read on another thread here that it is very sensitive and this seems to be the case. I cannot get anything on any Horizontal tp, the one to concentrate on is 11747 V.

I also got one tp on Amos 4 West 10889 V which there is a thread about somewhere here, comes and goes.

Never got it ever, so fingers crossed 2moro, I have 4.8e european perfect so I don't see how any thing else would make a difference, or maybe there's more than I know haahah

yes 11747 is the tp everyone wants, does the signal go in rain, i presume your using black ultra lnb these are very good.

Black Ultra made a big difference when I got it, I think it is the best LNB out there. Never really checked in rain but those signal levels would not make for a reliable service anyway.

It's not bad morning, time to get my 17inch and 19inch spanners and box and tv and try get the holy Grail which is the Nordic beam, nothing worst when you Want something so bad, my gf keeps saying why the f**k do u want this channel when you have millions of other channels and can only watch one thing at a time, well she could be right, but I want it, but ya know what, ill probably want something else soon as I get this, hahaha, wish luck!!

Try for 11881H 27500 3/4. Thats the SVT tp & tends to be one of the stonger Nordic beam frequencies here.

No luck whatso ever with that dish, it's getting same readings as my 1.1 triax, on the bright side I tweaked my tv2 pl hd Channel on Thor to 59% snr, anybody selling a channel master 1.8m for 200euro In Ireland,???? Lol

Slightly off topic, but I get that beam all the way down here on the 1.5m dish. The only transponders I have trouble with are the 8PSK ones.
