Loss of some transponders

A number of channels on my Sky+HD box have suddenly started showing "No signal" message or are breaking up with very low signal levels. This is confirmed by looking at the signal levels in the setup menus. I have analysed the affected channels and discovered that all of the affected channels are on just 5 transponders - all channels on 11224V, 11264V, 11568V, 11627V and some channels on 11582H are affected. No problems that I can see on any other transponder / channel. The problem can occur on either LNB input. I am struggling to understand how a fault can affect affect just these very specific transponders.
Any suggestions regarding cause or cure gratefully received.

It could be almost anything. Start with simple things first, checking dish obstruction/slight misalignment/damage to cap.

Have you replaced the connectors ?

It may also be the receiver itself, does your television have a satellite tuner ?

channels on 11224V, 11264V : adjust your LNB skew to eliminate x-polarisation from channels with the same freq but H polarisation.
channels on 11568V, 11627V, 11582H or 1818, 1877, 1832 MHz IF frequency, could be affected by long cable runs /bad quality cables.

In general, V channels have a slightly less SNR, so need better adjustment of the disc, to receive them free of errors.

They are all Europe beam transponders, they are generally weaker than those that use UK beams so tend to be the first to have problems. If the dish is solidly mounted with a clear view of the sky I would suspect the LNB and/or cables/connectors are past their best.

Thanks for responses. I have already lopped of a number of tall branches of a small apple tree which might have been affecting line of sight to the satellite, but it had no effect. I also tried reseating the pair of LNB connectors on the back of the Sky box, but again no improvement.
It doe occur to me that there was a lot of rain at times of the past week or two following the very hot dry summer so maybe there has been some water ingress at the dish or slight shift in alignment as you suggest. I'll climb up and have a look.

Any heavy cloud cover?? Some frequency's are affected by tons of moisture in the clouds, if it does this when there are no clouds then it could be 5G interference, if the satellite is low to the horizon then it could be ground bounce, this is where the signals are bouncing off something, this bounced signal is 180 degrees out of phase with the main, this can cause a drop or total cancellation of that signal.

Anyone having any difficulties with 11.627V in last few days? Racing TV breaking up a lot since Friday on my second receiver. Wondering if it's just high pressure interference at the moment.

Haven't tried Racing TV (encrypted) but LoveWorld which is on the same transponder comes in without problems.

Thanks for that I will check out that channel as well. Strangely it's only an issue on one of my receivers.

Just a update on my issues with Racing TV HD, we had about two weeks of a decent picture on the second receiver when the high pressure moved on, but we've lost it again since about last Thursday as the weather has improved. Something then came to me over the weekend, was it Wi-Fi interference? So I unplugged the broadband and guess what perfect RTV on the troublesome receiver. I need the Wi-Fi for work so can't plug it out all the time. Instead I've arranged for the dish to be checked and new screened cabling to be installed to that receiver and we will see if that finally sorts it.

Wi-Fi itself shouldn't cause the interference you are experiencing but I would try a different power supply. Switch-mode power supplies can pump out a lot of interference, for example an AC adaptor that came with one of my satellite receivers wipes out one of the commercial DAB multiplexes on any nearby radio. Just make sure any replacement power supply outputs the same voltage and at least the same amps as the one it is replacing.

Hi all, just to let you know that we replaced the cable run between the dish and that receiver and the problem was sorted there and then, turns out the existing cable was old and starting to degrade just enough to affect certain transponders.
