13E/11355V now test MODCOD1 and MODCOD2 for Invatech.
low signal for MODCOD2
13E11355V1modcod9dB.webp
13E11355V2modcod9dB.webp
normal signal for MODCOD2 (but my TBS without full support MODCOD)
13E11355V1modcod16db.webp
13E11355V2modcod16dB.webp

Can anyone test MODCOD2 processing on their hardware ?

PS: EDISION only sees the first MODCOD

Hi @EnoSat
I'm not sure what you are looking for.
This is a transponder broadcasting in VCM mode.
The 2 modcods carry probably the same services but in different resolutions/bitrate.
The signal strength should be the same for both modcods but 16APSK 5/6 needs at least 11,6 dB CNR ( QPSK 1/4: -2.4 dB ).
My DVB-S2 analyser shows both streams but 16APSK with packet loss due to bad weather.

VCM is a different principle than MODCOD. 13E/11355V operates in CCM mode.

I looks like I have to go back to the DVB academy.
For me modcod is short for modulation & coding. Sorry for the hick-up.

@EnoSat
I asked every dvb expert I know and got the same answer: it's short for MODulation and CODing.
There is no 'principle' with that name and it is no part of CCM.
2 modcods in 1 transport stream can never be Constant Coding & Modulation.
Maybe your software is in error or the transport-stream is wrongly flagged?
