if so would love to know the length you have the arms set at (to save me lots of tinkering)
I'm not using Rima's arms but i am using the alternate lnb positioning from Rima's data sheet which i found beneficial on the 1.8CM & the 1.2CM rigs here.
There's not a lot of physical shift between the positions and a bit of simple small brackets might do the trick. I'll take a quick pic of what i mean and post later

Doesn't look much but if carried out accurately, which it must be, it does give improvements

Are there practical guidelines, to choose the ratio between the distances of the two fixing points to the rotation axis?
I noticed (by doing some rough calculations) that the 'zone of highest accuracy' shifts, ...... [ precise calculations: ]
from the maximum retracted actuator zone when the ratio is 1 : 1; ...................................... at zero degrees (from 0 - 180 )
to about 50 rotational degrees from max.retracted zone, when the ratio is 1 : 1,5; .............. at 48.2 degrees (from 0 - 180 )
to about 65 rotational degrees from max.retracted zone, when the ratio is 1 : 2; ................. at 60.0 degrees (from 0 - 180 )
to about 75 rotational degrees from max.retracted zone, when the ratio is 1 : 3. ................. at 70.5 degrees (from 0 - 180 )
(For the calculation approach, I've taken max retracted as zero degrees, and max extended as 180 degrees [no more triangle, but opposites]; as the theoretical maximum possible range.)

i have noticed something strange and annoying with my setup.
after going out to the extreme wests \ 40.5w - 45w when returning to more central or eastern sats - the positions are all out and i have to re-calculate \ store them by - i can nudge over back to perfect signal levels.
i cannot work out why it happens. doesnt happen with East sats.
maybe i should try my 36" actuator and see if it still happens.

For example, is due south at 000 count and 0.8W at 009 count or are you using some other notation?
Just guessing but if you have similar positions stored for E/W it might be getting confused.
If you have 40.0E and 40.5W stored what are their respective satellite numbers in the v-box?
Same question for 3.0E/3.0W, 5.0E/5.0W and 7.0E/7.0W and 31.5E/31.5W
You could always try the dish on a Jaeger 1224.
They are easy to setup, linear counting across the arc and wider arc range than a polar mount.
Or change the v-box for an RC2000 if you can source one at sensible wad to see if that improves things?
