New build communal multisat system

My Satellite Setup
Pace and Grundig Digital Satellite recievers with 43cm Dish pointed at ASTRA 28.8
Moving out of my parents house very soon. The flat is a new build and there is a pair of satellite coaxial connections in the living room and main bedroom. I was told im not allowed to mount a dish or aerial outside (not that you would even try when your flat points north!) . I assumed that i would be leaving my Tivusat box at my parents because i thought the chances of the new place implementing a more expensive multisat system would be beyond them. Lo and behold, i was rummaging around the new place last sunday gathering some measurements and found the apartment manual.. I've had a quick read and took some pictures. To quote what it says, "You will be able to access additional television channels from other satellites as long as you have a suitable set top box and valid subscription."

The roof is way too high up for me to take a guess at what has been installed, and i left my satellite meter at home. I was anticipating disappointment being stuck on 28E services anyway, but it will be nice if they're catering for a wider audience. Next time i visit, i am going to bring my meter with me and i will see what they mean by "other satellites" (probably freesat :-doh).
 
Most commonly installed second satellite on systems is Hotbird, closely followed by Astra 19.2.
 
I followed the link and all it basically tells you is how to use Google and Bing maps! I was hoping for some other possibilities to be honest.

Sorry Paul to disappoint you.
I think Google Maps and satellite views would be a better option. But I doubt if the resolution would be that good.
 
@Willith said that it's a new build: it's a bit unlikely that his building will already be visible on satellite maps available to the general public, unless I'm missing something :)
 
A cheap receiver with DiSEqC control is the simplest way to see what's available.

Across much of the UK the resolution of the public maps is absolutely abysmal anyway. On the photos of this area you can barely see the gardens - and this area was done via photography from an airplane a few years ago
 
Unfortunately too new to appear on google maps! I've been offered 18 months free sky tv basic bundle, for whats it worth its better than a kick in the nuts but cant imagine i'll be paying for it in the future. As satelliteman mentioned, thats my plan really. See what i can pick up from the outlet rather than ask. Hopefully get hotbird at least and im all set.
 
If you can't receive Hotbird in the new apartment, perhaps you can consider setting up an IPTV service for yourself, using your current dish at your parents home.

Any chance you could ask the building owner what dishes are on the roof, and/or else see if someone in an adjacent building to let you have would let you have a look from their place?

A quick search of the postcode and the landlord / maintenance services might bring up the installation company that carried out the original build. From there you might get a description of the reception specifications.

Is there a penthouse / top floor stairwell ?

I can only access my floor with my fob :( i tried google and found nothing
