New LNB Problem

Quad LNB recently died after about 15 years sterling service, feeding a Humax Foxsat HDR. I had called out the local (southern France) cavalry and they confirmed my suspicions, and they replaced it with a new twin LNB (not sure of make)
All TV channels reappeared, but the two tuners seem unable to operate independently - if I'm recording something, sometimes I can't watch another channel without stopping the recording, which is obviously not what I want to do.. On the diagnostic page, both tuners show 100% quality and v high signal strength, with both giving the following numbers : 10773, H, 23000, 3/4.

Any ideas?
 
Could just be a faulty LNB. Are you sure it's not a single LNB with a splitter as that behaviour is what would happen if it was? What does the diagnostic page show if you try to record two different channels?
 
A photo showing the LNB and associated cabling might be useful.
 
LNB Pic attached - as you can see it's a FujiOnkyo The cabling (there's lots and lots of it, so IMO not worth a picture) seems fine.
One strange thing - if I disconnect one of the cables at the back of the Humax box, both tuners hae no signal. If I replace this and disconnect the other, again, neither tuner has a signal. As for diagnositcs -

Universal twin, so it should work. Try disconnecting one side of the lnb and checking the signal on tuners, then try the other one, see what it shows, one side may not be working properly.

Already done - it seems neither side works alone! (see above)

Ah sorry, read the posts before that.:) very strange. May be worth trying a factory reset of the box, don't think you'll lose recordings, but worth checking first.
Without using an analyser these problems can be awkward to diagnose.
