New member introductions

tb 2000. Welcome and enjoy.

Welcome to the forum Tony. Glad to have you on board.

Hi all,

New here, had satellite TV (then cable then back to satellite!) since the late 90's but only really got into searching for other satellites in the past few years.

Just a simple set-up of Sky Q and a Technomate TM5402 M3 into a diseqc into 4 lnbs on a zone 2 Sky dish (technically 3 on the zone 2 and 1 on our old rusty zone 1)!

Anyway, glad to be here!

Tony
welcome @tb2000 - are you going to start dabbling into motorised?

Thanks all!

Probably not, I like the pretty much instantanous switching of the diseqc switch and I don't really have anywhere to put a motorised setup with a decently sized dish at this time (i'd probably want at least a 1m dish for that to make sure)! I'm pretty happy with the Sky Zone 2 dish with 28.2e, 19.2e and 13e lnbs on it and the old Zone 1 pointing at 9e (sitting in what is basically a big flower pot in the patio! :D) I've tried for 5w on it but can't seem to pick it up, and there's a clear line of sight to it far as I can tell. Probably needs a bit bigger dish! As it is, it picks up all of the 9e transponders apart from 1 for some reason (12245 H on the German beam) and obviously the Italian beam ones. A few transponders disappear in bad weather. Maybe i'll get another larger dish, bolt it to the back of the house and get an 8 way diseqc at some point in the future!

Hi all, newbie here. Just bought a new LG OLED TV that has freesat as well as freeview on it. I've decided to fit a dish so I've got the options of both but seeing as I've seen a few comments online about having problems getting the setup correct thought it would be a good idea to register here to get a good, unbiased view about what would be the best setup to get before I start throwing £ needlessly at it

Sure I'll enjoy the learning experience - TIA to anyone that offers help once I post my first Q :Y

:-welcome1 to the forum Shaky1105.

Someone on the forum will no doubt try to help with any questions you have on your proposed setup.

Thanks for the friendly welcome everybody :D. I'll prolly post later and give as much info as poss. Looking forward to finding out how to set it all up.

Just joined. I was reading the forum in the past but now I decided to join since I have some issues with my new antenna rotor sosome threads will come. I am interested in amateur satellite DSN and LEO reception and I am looking to build a system for S and X bands.

Hello marrull and welcome to the forum. Enjoy your time here.

Hello all.
Finally, after years of reading only, I decided to register.
I'm not a newby, my interests are DVB (S-C-T) technology and making measurements of these signals.
Because of that, i think I can contribute to this forum.
