The M**s software is still available, but that's all.

Don't expect high bit rate 4.2.2 to be stable on this box...it will more than likely freeze up!

Biggest problem this morning was when I turned it and the TV off to go to work. I was at the door to leave, both the box and the tv were back on. Turned the box off with the remote, turned the TV off again and was at the door when I can hear the TV again. The box turns off and then comes back on again turning the TV back on. I therefore pressed the power button on the remote, then pulled the plug on the box and left the house.

That's probably the CEC setting for HDMI, turn it off on the box and TV, see what happens then..

My satellite receiver has arrived and I plan to install it on Monday morning.

In regards to moving my sky dish to get Astra 19.2 and Hotbird 13 - can I use a compass on my phone and move the satellite that way or will it need a motor or any other equipment?

This issue my first time looking for foreign TV channels and don't have a lot of spare funds right now so just doing it as basic as possible. Next year I will invest in a decent set up.

A bonus of the V8S is when blind scanning it will find transponders that are below lock and save them in the TP list, you can then work out if you are close to the satellite you are looking for. For a budget setup I would use a sat beeper with a rising tone, they can be bought cheaply and work well.

you just need to unscrew the nuts and slowly turn the antenna in the direction of Astra

Thanks for that info, I'm an electrician and I'm OK with using Sky, IPTV etc but I'm blind when it comes to what equipment is needed.

I'll be looking into sat beepers tonight thank you. Had a quick look and saw they're very cheap like you said. I'll be buying one and in the meantime reading up on how to use them.

User-defined orbital position is for if you want to use a satellite position that isn't in the predefined list, it can be left blank if a satellite from the list is selected.

Antenna diameter is the physical dimensions of the dish face, not important for finding the satellite's azimuth so just leave the default values.

Antenna diameter might be useful, some programmes might provide a satellite that isn't actually receivable at the location.

I would put a figure in such as 75cms to remove the possibility.
