Newbie Here New smart LG tv

My Satellite Setup
satellite dish, freesat tv
My Location
south wales uk
I have just up my new LG TV and connected to my sat dish(way older than sky q) hoping for freesat which is enabled on TV. But I get no sat signal or power when I try to tune in freesat channel. Could someone please point me in the right direction as to what I maybe doing wrong. Many thanks.
 
Have you tried both incoming connections ?

Have you tried the non Freesat option

Have you tried a complete blind search ?
 
Biggest question, when was the dish last used and how old is way older than Q? The dish may well be out of alignment.
 
What LNB Frequency settings are you using?
 
Dish is fine with my TV with sky+ downstairs, have run cable from dish into attic where I have used a splitter with 2 cables running from it
 
LNB Power/LNB Voltage set to ON?

But this is all guessing, as we're given not much info about your installation and TV....

Your problem is the splitter. With this type of LNB each tuner requires its own cable from the LNB. If the LNB has only one output then you need to change it for a twin or quad LNB (may require a new dish depending how old the current one is).

The other option is a 'smart priority switch' but this means the Sky box or TV can control the LNB, but not simultaneously.
 
You need to run a cable directly from the LNB to the television. Splitters don't work for this kind of setup.

If you are already using all 4 LNB 'ports' you can get an 'octo' LNB with 8 ports.
If you can't drill through the wall you can get an SCR LNB if your television supports that system. Splitters work with SCR but the LNBs aren't cheap.

FWIW, I think that most (all? - certainly the one I bought in mid-2020) recent LG TV's that have sat tuners do support SCR LNBs.
