FWIW, my current t/t sits on a toughened (6mm thick) glass shelf supported by appropriate slotted wall brackets in a corner between 2 walls - NB use LONG/deep window frame fixings as the shelf & t/t are likely to be pretty heavy (ordinary wall plugs/screws are not good enough!)
