NO HD channels on viasat, swansea, south wales.

Hi, i have purchased a viasat card (i think it is latvian) and pace HD box and had it installed. I was informed before it was fitted that i would not be able to get the premier league HD channel, but that any games on that channel were on a non HD channel also.

After the install and searching the net i have ended up here, having only a choice of second rate saturday games and am now nice few quid skinter than i was already.

Is there any thing i can do to get the premier league HD channel with the box and card i have purchased??

All the games, apart from the one on Premier League HD, will be on Xtra PL too. Are the games on Viasat Baltic Sport or do you get TV2 Premier League? They'll have them but doubt you'll get TV2 as it's Denmark
 
You were given bad information.

Only the Viasat Nordic cards will get you the Xtra channels that give you full coverage of EPL games. Last season a Viasat Baltic card would get you up to four EPL games a week.

EDIT: I have now read in a few other posts that it is claimed that Viasat Baltic does give you acces to the Xtra PL channels this season. I am surprised that no one has come to your assistance in explaining how you get the Xtra PL channels with a Viasat Baltic card.

Until someone explains what you have to do to get the Xtra PL channels it seems the jury is out on whether Viasat Baltic does have confirmed access to the Xtra PL channels.

Viasat Xtra PL channels is active only if you have Viasat Premier League HD subscription (Viasat Baltic).

i do have a 2 yr subscription to HD, just the signal isn't strong enough to reach me here.i have found the xtra pl channels and watch some games on them.you basically have the choice out of the saturday games apart from the pick of the day, which is on the HD channel, but not duplicated on any other channel.
 
i know this is a couple of months old but this may help others. in your area you can pick up all the pl extra channel with a 1.1 dish most installers will use the triax as they are cheap. for day time viewing of the pl hd channel you will need a quality 1.2 like a channel master or visiosat. to watch eveing matches on the pl hd channel you will need a 1.8 meter dish. this will need ground mounting and will cost you the best part of a grand to get it installed. could give you loads more info but not allowed links .
 
just had a thought if you got the triax 1.1 there is a tweek witch we used to do when using this dish for arabsat. unscrew butterfly bolt at the base of the dish and put a penny washer between arm and mounting plate. then tighten, this will raise the arm. then and this is a big maybe. if its a nice day and you all stand still and no one farts you may pull in the hd channel day time only. if its no better try two washers and if that don't work put it back to how it was and buy a bigger dish.
