Old skyboxes (drx-100/pace 2200) wanted

Pewrsonally I doubt very much if any of these mythical egg logo receivers will have survived for the intervening 20+ years especially as we know both types had poor power capacitors in them were dog slow to use and have been obsolete for at least 15 years.

Last time I saw an egg-logo box was over 10 years ago, and that went in the bin for being non-working...

I suspect any working (or repairable) ones would still technically "work" on Sky, which is what the interest is for the OP.

There should be more of these around than obsolete MAC decoders and 80's/90's analogue receivers that I keep buying.....!

It has been argued on this forum befor that the tuners in the older sky boxes can pull in signals when modern kit shows a blank screen.

I would guess most of them will be in the bottom of the local municipal tip by now. :D

One rather hopes that they will have been disposed of responsibly under WEEE compliance.

So would I - (and any electrical gear I personally dispose of is always dropped in the appropriate salvage bins) but seeing the anmount of WEEE stuff I see on the side of the road with the general rubbish is depressing.

Some people are responsible - the bins at 2 of the local council yards I use always fill up rapidly.

Hi - @timb55
I think this is the correct Pace box that you are seeking .. see pic below .. the drawback is that it is in daily use in the kitchen/dining room of an elderly lady in the next village to me ... i set it up for her many years ago for access to Ch 5 ( in the days before freeview ) and to receive Borders itv ... for news in the area where her daughter lives.

pace box 002-Optimized.webp

Ah the mythical (mystical??) egg logo digibox! They do indeed exist :D

yeees, this is it, can you ask if she can sell it to me?ahah

She may swap for a non HD replacement box ... do you have a fully working one ? ... any i still have here have got faults.

She is elderly and hopeless with technology,... i suspect she wont like the different menu layout of a H.D. box ..she dosn,t like change ...

Eggcellent find Nelson

Had a wander round a charity shop today, spied a black sky box & remote, nope, just a Grundig GDS200, with the later logo, was more interested in the flexidiscs I found in their record collection, not that I bought any of them cos they were ruined...
