Promax Ranger - Owners/Users Topic

I tried, but I cannot get a propper signal at 11699 H on 16.0E. Sorry... :(

Youv'e got them bloody crayons out again :p. Didn't realise the Neo went down to 2 MHz span - very useful. Our tatty old Rangers only go down to 10 MHz span,

@John

Not me with the crayons sir, it was Promax, they used the crayons in their video.
My Ranger Neo+ does not go down to 2 MHz span, it is 10 MHz, same as yours. It is the next model up in the range that can do the 2 MHz span.

However, from reading Vitor's feedback on editing some of the firmware update files I thought that it might be possible to get the non specified Ranger models to achieve a 2 MHz span.
It seems from the reply from Vitor in post 20 above that this might be possible?

On a different note: the FW server seems to be down. Even NetUpdate 4 cannot find the server and issues an error.

@moonbase: send me the current FW upgrade file. It should be a ZIP file and it should be in the NetUpdate4 folder on C:\.

It has been down for some time.
Promax are moving away from using the FW Server in favour of some other web method.

I contacted Promax to get a firmware update file which they sent by email.

It is a large file, 121mb when zipped, too large to upload to this forum.
I updated my meter with a USB stick containing the firmware update.

Sent you PM.

I will look at it over the weekend. I am away from home at the moment.

It is the 16.0 East beacon at 11699.20 H.

I have attached a picture of the beacon below taken with a span of 2 MHz, other settings were Persistence = ON, Averaging = 7
The YouTube video is in the link below.

I need help, I am morphing into a wavy line merchant (bows head in shame).

Looks like you enabled "Persistence".

That beacon peak at 11699.20 splits into 5 sub peaks in the Promax beacon video I linked to above.
They were using a Ranger model with 1 Mhz and 2 MHz span range options and a resolution bandwith of 40 KHz.
