Advice Needed Replaced LNB, still no signal quality on Box.

Hi, thanks for all the replies.
I am indeed in the UK, South Wales infact.

I am going to rerun a new cable anyway but It seems odd that I do not get anything at all. If the dish is out of alignment even slightly, would I still get some 'quality'?

The motor was fed by 36v it looks like - It has been cut off for the last 10 years or so.

At the moment I am physically moving the dish - I under it is not advised but I am just trying to find any that shows some signal at all.

Thanks again.

36 volts?? 90% of the FTA receivers out there can't supply that kind of voltage, not without an add on Vbox, I hope you didn't try to hook the receiver up to this motor.

In your settings you have it set to 18V skew ON, set it to H / V for transponder switching, the will allow the correct switching for the transponder you have selected.

And if your not getting a good "S" signal then something may be wrong with the settings for that LNB, or the LNB is not getting DC power.

One other thing, that receiver is an MPEG2 box, (unless there is a newer model) some of the channels on that satellite (Hotbird 13E) are in MPEG4, you wont get a thing off those channels.

So be sure your looking at a MPEG2 transponder.
