Reset Root Password, Plugin

compufunk you are a G. i got the password switched over, gained access through telnet and think I just got access to my passwd and cccam files through putty.

I think I finally might be moving forward with these boxes.

First of all, thanks for all the information posted here. :)


I have a DM500s box, with password protection (Don't know what image it have installed). I asked to my service provider about the user/password since it's not the default (root/dreambox). The provider gave me this answer: "We can't share the password with you because it's a private image". :-DOH! )(-red


For me, that answer sounds like a "Do it yourself". :toke:


So i'm looking for a way to crack or change the password. I'll try all the solutions posted on this forum and let you know the results. :o

You cant change things - thats a box you have bought with paid for card share on it isnt it - ANY discussion whatsoever of such boxes is absolutely forbidden on this forum.

The box seller locks them down to stop people tinkering with htem :D
 
That's the problem, I don't know the meaning of "locked" and "blocked"... =P But I know about rules breakup and walls.

Your Dreambox is locked by the provider of the illegal commercial card sharing service and there's not much you can do to get into the box, they don't want you to.

As mentioned earlier, we do not assist on any problems with illegal commercial card shares.
