If the eeprom's failed (a known problem with a particular batch installed in some of the receivers), you can try flashing it through a serial cable, but it usually grinds to a halt about halfway when it gets to the faulty cells. (my experience with a couple of the receivers).
The eeprom's not replaceable unless you're equipped with a hot air soldering station. Then you need to find the replacement (if they're still available...)

Hi, I've dug up a AD3600IP and it doesn't fire up.

You will get a split second of life from the LED then it just dies. Sounds like a PSU and caps failure.

I'm handy with a soldering iron but wouldn't know where to start on these. I understand C12, C16, C17 might be at fault from another thread but there are quite a few caps on that PSU surrounding them.

Any ideas please?

Crikey, a blast from the past. A candidate for PS problems is the resistor up against the heat sink in pic 2 (you can see its wire end poking up amongst the caps). Have a look for a burning area under the resistor on the board underside.

Having said that, the fact that the receiver had fired up to show some life, points to the other main fault on these 3000ip's - a dead eeprom.

Sorry, noticed its the 3600. I'm not familiar with that version.

Yep dug up for a resurrection ! It was a barn find but it's all in nice condition otherwise.

I don't think it's an eeprom problem. These were the very last of the AD3600IP versions and that problem had been long sorted by then.
