Shaky camerawork...

I have to say, I'm getting very tired of this shaky camerashot stuff, having to move my eyes about to compensate for this "realism" effect is making me dizzy... :-hammer

It's in a lot of recent films, it's in TV programmes, even the odd news piece is being made with this ridiculous method of filming....

Then there's the random zooming in and out, that is exceedingly annoying, you get focussed on something, and oh, they zoomed in on something not involved with the plot, AAAAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!!!! )(-red

If there are any directors reading this, stop it, it's annoying!!! )(-red

My pet hates are the unnecessary fast cuts that many directors make in their programmes - its bloody annoying.

Creativity??? They're replicating the home-video UFO shot!!! There's nothing creative about it, it's giving me a headache (and that's not just a phrase!!!)...

It totally spoiled Star Trek XI for me, I thought that would have escaped the wrath of shaky on the VFX shots, but nope, they made that annoying too... :mad:

And there was Avatar (not something I wanted to watch), I couldn't watch that either cos of shakyness....

It's not creativity, it's crap, it's annoying, and it's giving me a sore head!!! )(-red

You need to eat a large amount of fast food and a mega cola drink an hour beforehand, then an enormous bucket of popcorn during the opening credits, so you can have the same state of mind and shaky eyes that the AD/HD kids had, when polled for the most likeable films.

Couldn't agree more. Gimmicky, like the split screen movies (Woodstock, Thomas Crown Affair etc.) It'll pass, when they find another fad.

The shaky effect has been running since the modern take on Battlestar Galactica came along with them, and the split screen sillyness is 24's fault....

I'm glad I have plenty of pre-shake films and TV at my disposal on DVD, I just can't stand these idiots!!! )(-red

Makes me wonder why camcorder manufacturers are bothering with steady-shot features, cos the TV people are just turning it off and getting tanked up on coffee... O-zzz

I thought head (the Monkees - 1968) used split shots, as did 2001 - A Space Odyssey

Alfred Hitchcock was fond of split screen as well. I must say that I don't find this particular gimmick objectionable.

I agree with everything said. I hate shaky cameras, especially in zombies movies. Rec was ruined by hand-held camera work! :mad:
