Well I've had my first SSD failure, the SSD** hard drive in my laptop went fooiey last night, I powered it on to check for any antivirus updates and system updates and the message "Please load an operating system" popped up, wow I don't use this laptop that much and don't rough house it around and it's only 6 years old.
So I did the internal BIOS trouble shooting and it popped up with "no operating system found, check cables for proper seating or connection to hard drive".
So I took it apart and everything was connected correctly, I removed the hard drive (Seagate 500 G
and ran an external check, it turned up dead no connection to the tester, nothing.
So a new one is on the way, it's a Sandisk 1TB, I've had very good luck with that brand, all my computers run them.
By the way tiring to take apart one of those thin HP laptop's is a big hair pulling job, I almost threw it against the wall several times.
** SSD= Solid State Drive, no internal moving parts it's all IC chips .
