Interesting. I have a Sony AVR STR-DB940 that has Line In at the front, hidden with a flap door.If I could find a reasonably priced AVR that has Front Channel Line out![]()
Any special reason why you need line out at the front?

I need Line out for the Front Channels, so I can feed them in to my Naim "Stereo Amplifier" so that drives the front speakers when I want to use 5.1.Interesting. I have a Sony AVR STR-DB940 that has Line In at the front, hidden with a flap door.

I take this back. I found the Yamaha AS301 in local shops but the idiots call it "Two Channels Receiver" instead of power amplifier. We have only AVR's in Israel last time I checked
Ref a cabinet for the "stack" in the lounge, I bought a pine AV cabinet from IKEA about 20 years ago, and also left the back off so as to be able to get at the cables easily - but had to then reinforce all the joints at the rear with metal "L" and "T" brackets because the back panel was designed to "lock" the structure together, and it was "wobbly" without it.I build my own, I leave the back off and cut notches in the shelves to let the wires through.
Oh dear, it had outputted DC when the module wentwell, as a bump to this thread I finally got my new amp, a Yamaha A-S301, very nice too.
connected it all up only to find that as my previous amp died it took out the speaker that was connected to the right channel (bass cone is now very scratchy with no real bass behind it).
Went to the attic and retrieved the 38 year old original Panasonic speakers and I'm, back in business - the music is back!!.
The bass cone on the blown Wharfedale makes a scratching sound when gently pushed whereas the survivor is silent. Need to source a new bass cone from somewhere - a Wharfedale Model 1510H bass cone and get it up and running again. Would be a shame to ditch them if I can replace the speaker
