It may find it but it will not display any video as the 5402 does not have the needed H.265 HEVC codec to display the content, you need a sat receiver like a Amiko A3 combo or Mutant HD51 which both have 4k decoding ability

Some 4k channels will scan in as radio, if you insert usb and record you can play back using vlc player

Amiko A3 combo

Thank you for your reply : )

After a quick look at both receivers on eBay, it would appear the Mutant HD51 though a lot more expensive is sat only, where as the Amiko A3 combo covers terrestrial TV as well.

I wonder do you use one of the two ?

Not sure if there are any 4k stations on terrestrial in the UK yet via Freeview ?

One of those two would make a nice Christmas present, time to drop some hints I think : )

God Bless Spiff

I am getting my quotes and reply mixed up I think ?

Thank you for your reply.

I have a USB hard drive connected to the Technomate, so record the 4k then plug drive into computer and use VLC player.

I am assuming there is no way to install the VLC player on the Technomate ?

No 4k freeview yet but eventually I think in the years to come, tests have been done... yes the Amiko A3 I have, with a very sensitive DVB-T2 tuner also, really an excellent box with blindscan, got mine for £69 when it was a on special offer, currenrt rrp is £129 from Amiko A3 Combo

No,

But there is a work round, use wifi usb while recording stream it over your network to pc, then stream from pc to tv, bit of messing around but it works,

The mutant has plug and play tuners, its ok for whatever your needs are :)

Oh yes that's true but there's no blind scan with the mutant it seems ?
