That Extended Loss of Service last night - Channel 4 / 5 etc.

There was no sound on Channel 4 HD last night when I checked. Also read that the BBC was able to shift its play out to Salford but there's no mention of it in that article.

Yesterday night was black screen and then a comment saying the service was having problem. Today picture but no sound on 27.5w

Channel 5 are currently broadcasting via an Emergency Backup, hence the square symbol on its playout

Some of the music channels are broadcasting other channels instead of their usual content:

Box Hits showing Kiss
Magic, Kerrang! & 4Music showing The Box

Just flicking through terrestrial and Channel 4 (+1) was frozen for a couple of minutes.

Crystal Palace transmitter.

E4+1 on Freeview D3&4 multiplex feed on 28.2°E:

Film 4 and Film4+1 Now and Next EPG not working for me on Satellite 28.2e, Freesat EPG I'm guessing works?

we lost the signal from Astra 2 for a few minutes at about the same time last night due to the torrential rain here, and then again for a few minutes a little later when the rain here had subsided - the latter presumably due to the uplink failing.

GBBO was awful on Tuesday on Ch4HD on Sky. Contestant sound was coming out of rear right speaker(!) but narrative was OK. Was missing subtitles too, which didn't help.

We noticed this too, apparently it's something to do with the emergency playout not being able to handle 5.1 audio properly, so stuff is getting mapped in strange ways, also without the metadata that sets the levels on each audio channel in the decoder.

Just checking Channel 4 HD now it seems like it's permanently in 5.1 mode at the moment, rather than dynamically going between 2.0 and 5.1 depending on the programming as is the case normally.

Alongside the awful new(?) solid white Channel 4 HD logo, a 64 x 2 line of pixels in the upper left corner has appeared, I've added some extra border to make it easier to see:

They must have lost a lot of gear in the rack room to be out of action coming up to a week later!

Both the Channel 4 HD line & 5 HD box disappear during the adverts, wonder if they might trigger the play out of the next set of ads when they disappear?

As for the inconsiderate channel logo, both More 4 & 4seven have logos that are partially solid (the more & 7 part of the logo) so unfortunately it might be here to stay. A kick in the teeth for OLED & plasma owners :(

I had an email from them Monday which said there may be some disruption on All4 as there was a technical issue, I just assumed they had been hacked

Just noticed on the Channel 4+1's via 10936 V 22000 28e, there's a disparity between the channels in terms of one being ahead of the other. 2 of the Channel 4+1's appear to be a full minute of the other 3. I did a quick count on the stopwatch and theres a delay of 84 seconds between 2 of the channels.

It may have been like this before the fire incident perhaps.

Supposedly some new programmes added to All4 are off-air recordings including adverts & promos.

Have also seen it said the Channel 4 services broadcast from East Midlands Waltham Freeview transmitter are sourced from All4

Subtitles and audio description are still absent.

Don't know if it's related but 'TTT' appeared in the top right corner of ITV HD Tyne Tees for a few minutes:

Had a quick look at other regions but only saw it on Tyne Tees HD.
