Absolutely unbelievable: The only worthwhile regular programme on ITV has been axed due to falling viewing figures.

Which is self-inflicted injury anyway, as shifting it to 21.00 and making it "darker" has backfired in spectacular fashion.

And it is the Series that has almost single handedly kept ITV HD from becoming totally moribund, save the odd Football Match or Hobbity thing (if you're lucky).

PS: I never did work out what happened to Debbie (The large-chested lady plod) many, many moons ago: Anybody know?

I quite liked this incarnation, but many people didn't, catch 22 I guess, damned if you do change it and damned if you don't.

The earlier period was more like an updated Dixon of Dock Green, serious subjects without being morbid or depressing.

I wonder what they will replace it with, I'll bet it isn't going to be worth watching. ITV seem to have lost their way. I can't imagine people queuing up to subscribe to it.

Didn't realise they were still keeping it going, but, at least they have finally given up polishing that particular turd....

That said, most of ITV is full of that sort of thing....

I blame the drop off in Eastenders 'actors' being palmed off, they end up in adverts flogging dodgy legal, or postal gold services.

I've never liked The Bill, so I am not sorry over its passing.

I thought it was cheap and patronising, and most certainly should never have been made into a TV soap. That to me is laughable. A police soap...you couldn't make it up.
