Voyager 1 leaves the solar system

It's amazing how long they kept these two going
And yet despite the time in space, Voyager would take around 70,000 years to reach the next nearest star.

 
All is not lost yet - the spacecrafts resets its antennas every few months to realign them with Earth. The next one is due in October
 
It might have been pick up by the GGC for recycling. (GGC, the Galactic Garbage Company of Sirius Prime)

I don't remember if we put a return label on it, it may take some time for them to make up a record player for that gold record on it's side.
