White BSkyB Cards: Activation

hello,
since we are talking about the dm500 s i wanted to ask a question.
in 2009 when the cards went to a white card did these cards plug right away in the dream box and worked?
or did the old card have to go into the old sky box first and then insert the white card to activate it first?
just looking ahead for 2013 or 14 guess new card may be issue.

hello to all.
wanted to find out something in 2009 when the new white cards came out did they pulg into the dm 500s streaght away?
or did it have to go into the original sky box and get activated first and then into the dm 500s?
since all the intitlements update no problem over the last 2 years just wanted to know.
does anyone know who sells another new dm500s that has the cc cam 2.1.4 and is ready to go so all i have to do is enter the box key .
also i have been running this box for almost 2 years and no card failure and to tuner burnout. no pin required.
runs great.
