I have installed in several sites TP-Link TL-WR841N , it is not repeater by default but has bridge mode in original software. Not so difficult to set it up. So, couple of SAT-receivers, stationary PC and TV set are connected by wires. And, of course, it also disperses additional wireless network in the apartment. It is hanged behind the TV and asks for no attention.

I have that model Router, too.

Also with STBs, VOIP Adapter, Homeplug etc filling every Ethernet Port!

Yeah, I have a 2nd one with DD-WRT on it acting as a wifi bridge for my IP Cam, I did have a third one, but that seemed to crap out on me, something physically wrong with it inside the unit...

I use the amped wireless routers they can put out around 2 watts of RF.

Mine covers about 10 acres of the ranch before my laptop runs out.

In part due to our population density, our Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations wouldn't permit something that meaty.

Mind you, I was fixing a Wireless Networking issue for my neighbour yesterday and my WiFi Analyser showed that my own Repeater signal was stronger than his own Router when I was in the room his Router was located in, so even CE compliant Repeaters aren't too shabby.

And I didn't need a Horse, Ute or Light Aircraft to get there

Lol. I looked at this a few days ago and Ebay emailed me today with a better price. £8.69 would you believe - same as Tivu's.

Their ploy may have worked. I'm considering it even though I don't need one in the UK.

Blimey, that was close. No, of course I'm not going to get it. However...

I was also looking at the same item with a Euro plug on, Maybe they'll pick up on that as well...

As well as the extender Tivu suggested i also purchased a Netgear WRN2000 V2 wirelss router for £5 inc postage , if anything to play around with the DD-WRT firmware

I also own a DIR 615 but i dont want to risk bricking it as its a fantastic bit of kit, abeit a bit slow by todays standards.

The VM Superhub is starting to get on my tits as it doesn't like playing ball. Its like the kids, you have to tell it twice before it actually does what you want it to do, and then only sometimes :mad:

+1 for the DIR 615 with DD-WRT

I had to login to my VM SH the other day to check out the network and firewall logs and it took three attempts before it decided I was entering a password and logged me in, every time I put the password in the page refreshed and it went back to the login screen

I need to find a cheap/cheerful gigabit router that will take DD-WRT so I can be done with it and put the SH back into modem mode

I've been using my Superhub in modem mode since I got it, as the port forwarding capabilities are pathetic. The WAN feed runs into my Netgear Firewall VPN router on which the wireless side has given up the ghost, then into a TPLink 8 port gigabit switch and then TPLink wireless access point. Works quite well.
